The Winter Kid

The Winter Kid follows an old man who has withdrawn from the world, hardened by time and loneliness.

In the stillness of winter, a young boy begins to appear at his door, gently disrupting the man’s carefully guarded routine. Though repeatedly dismissed, the child returns each day — patient and hopeful. One day, he leaves something behind, a small offering which awakens old memories and stirs something long forgotten.

Through memory, small gestures, and the contrast between youth and old, this poem reflects on how warmth and humanity can return even after years of emotional coldness.
